The DeDe hitmaker expressed this last night in an exclusive interview with Dauda Yayra on Julizy FM an Accra based Online Radio.
“I think what we need in our reggae industry is not hypocrisy but rather unity and selfless efforts. Ones we all get the understanding that its not a competition but one core responsiblity”.
With his experience as a musician, travelling around the globe and performing on big stages with various big musicians, Blakk went further to advice both mainstream and upcoming reggae artistes/musicians to focus on their originality, quality, learn more about music, rebranding, and how to market their music to fit the international level.
“We should stop the “copy and paste” type of reggae/dancehall music from our sister country jamaica, It demeans our culture, originality, and tradition of music. He emphasized on this using himself as am example and the discovery of his type of music called “Kuchoko Reggae” which is the combination of root reggae and tradional music”
Dauda asked blakk if indeed he is an anti-rasta/ganja?
“I dont smoke ganja/marijuana and am not an anti-ganja. Alot is being said about me but for the records, i will always stand by my words and continue to be who i am”
“I dont pay attention to St*pidities others think or say about me, i will continue to fight for the legalization of Ganja/ Marijuana not for my myself but for the economic growth and development of the country.
